Frequently Asked Questions

Free Gift Cards Online - Frequently Asked Questions

How to Use My Gift Card

Each gift card is preloaded with the balance offered. Once you receive your card, you can use it for purchases at select locations. Every purchase is deducted from the balance of the gift card, but because it is a prepaid gift card, your spending is limited to the amount of money placed on the gift card.

Each time you use your gift card, the purchase amount is automatically deducted from your gift card balance. Before you go shopping, you'll need to know how much money you have available. The merchant cannot tell you how much money you have remaining on the gift card.

Some sponsors provide electronic gift certificates, which are typically used for online retailers, such as Amazon. In some cases, you can also print these gift certificates with their bar codes and use them in a physical store or restaurant.

Delivery Time

Each vendor strives to deliver gift cards in a timely manner. Most cards are sent via U.S. postal mail, while other gift cards are distributed electronically. Please consult individual vendors for delivery timelines.

Can my card be used at an ATM?

Your gift card does not offer ATM capabilities.

Can I get cash back with my gift card?

Not all retailers allow you to get cash back if you have a balance on your gift card. Check with individual retailers for their policies on using gift cards and vouchers.

How are these gift cards free?

Nothing in life is truly free. When we purchase gift cards, we exchange money for the gift card. When we apply for free gift cards, we exchange something else of value. We may participate in research studies in order to obtain a free gift card, we may read emails or click on links, or we may be asked to purchase related items that we would have bought anyway. Always read the terms and conditions before applying for a free gift card.

What are the participation requirements?

Many of the gift cards on this site are offered free to visitors who participate in their market research programs. Participation requirements usually depend on the free gift being offered. The more valuable the gift, the more you will be expected to do in order to receive it. Often you will see participation levels, such as Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Program requirements vary by vendor, but EXAMPLE requirements are:

Silver: you may refer friends, join Netflix, apply for a credit card, apply for a trial offer, join a movie or book club, and/or request a credit report
Gold: you may refer more friends, join a movie or book club, apply for a trial offer, purchase an item, and/or apply for a credit card
Platinum: you may refer even more friends, subscribe to a membership site, join a movie or book club, apply for a trial offer, purchase an item, and/or apply for a credit card

Are free gift cards scams?

Often times when people complain about these offers being scams you find out that they did not follow the instructions. And since they didn't follow the instructions they did not receive their free gift card. The requirements are precise and they can be dealt with but you need to follow the instructions precisely. And I recommend contacting the gift card sponsor whenever you have a question (and avoiding any program that does not provide contact info).

Can I apply for more than one free gift card?

Yes, as long as the program requirements do not state otherwise. We work with a variety of vendors, so in most cases, you can apply for whatever gift cards interest you.

What are the requirements for getting free gift cards?

Each sponsor is responsible for setting the rules of the participation contract. In general, applicants must be age 18 or older and reside legally in the United States. Other rules may apply. Always check in the participation agreement before applying to get free gift cards online.
